I met Dr. O'Connor almost three years ago when my mother broke off one of her teeth. She had been seeing a different dentist for over 20 years but had concerns about that dentist doing major work because of his advancing age. Change is difficult for her but she knew she needed a new dentist. She chose Dr. O'Connor because his office is located close to where she lives. She was very anxious the first time she went to see him but Dr. O'Conner and his staff were very patient with her. The quality of work they performed was excellent.

When it came time for my next cleaning and check up, I chose to go to Dr. O'Connor as well. I was impressed with how thorough the consultation process was and how patient-oriented his staff is. Having just moved to Saint Louis bought a lot of anxiety regarding changing dentists, but I am now at home. Dr. O'Connor is highly educated, down to earth, approachable and honestly makes your concerns his first priority. My initial evaluation consisted of an hour with Dr. Tom one on one discussing MY goals and agenda rather than his, examining my current state of dental health, and deciding together on my options for further care.

Since my initial visit I can say that in all my dental work, multiple measures were taken to ensure my comfort and that all procedures were performed with as little discomfort as possible. I have yet to undergo a procedure that was not first explained to me in length to ensure I knew what was anticipated both medically and financially.

Which brings me to his staff, who are efficient, respectful and friendly. I am always greeted by a smile and a person who knows my name. For dental care that is top notch Dr. O'Connor is the dentist you're trying to find. I am lucky to be his patient.

About Hygienist: I have had two cleanings now from the O'Connor's office hygienist. To use the cliche "friendly" or "cheerful" would be an understatement. My comfort is questioned and ensured throughout treatment from position of head rest, amount of seat tilt, temperature of the room and sensitivity to the treatment. She is thorough, precise and detailed. Equally concerned with your dental health as well as your satisfaction. The BEST I have had.

He is conveniently located to offer service to both south city and south county area patients. Being a professional with a very limited time schedule, his hygenist Kathy has offered me early morning hours to get my cleaning completed and be on my way. I have a history of needing an occasional crown and Dr. O'Connor has successfully implanted over 7 of which I still have today. After years of not going to the dentist for various reasons, I decided to try Dr. O'Connor and have been very happy. Because of my dental neglect I've had to have a lot of work done including a couple root canals. I've never had any pain and if the anesthetic starts to wear off, he is very good about making sure you're numb before continuing. And if the procedure takes long enough you get to watch a movie!

About Hygienist: Kathy is great, but she likes to give me trouble about not flossing regularly. The problem is if I do floss regularly I won't have reason to see Kathy so much. Quite a dilemma.

About Hygienist: Kathy is a terrific hygienist. She is very gentle, thorough in her explanations and techniques - whether it is taking x-rays, assessing the level of plaque build-up on teeth, cleaning and polishing, or flossing - and never scolds you for failing to floss. However, a word of caution: if you don't floss, Kathy will encourage you to do so with such kindness and consistency that you will find yourself complying!

Excellent dentist! He is not in my dental insurance network, but i pay extra so that i can go to him. I would never think of going to another dentist. I have been going to him ever since i had teeth and i have never had any problems and he has never put me through any pain. If he ever retires i am not sure what i will do??

Dr Tom is a great dentist and a great person. I have been using him for the last 24 years and feel like he is a close personal friend. His chair side manners are exceptional and his knowledge of dentistry is second to none. He continues to learn and grow with his profession. He travels the country studying new and improved ways of making peoples smiles better. I know becaue I ran into him in Detroit when he was going to a 3 day seminar on a new technique.

I moved out of the neighborhood 20 years ago but still drive the extra distance because he is the best. Not only a great dentist but a great person. His staff is as wonderful as he is. Not to mention he has the most comfortable dental chairs!!!!

Tom has been a friend since high school. He has always been a good man, friendly, generous, kind and caring with a great sense of humor. I've entrusted my family's dental health to Tom and his staff.

When I was a kid I dreaded going to the dentist. I do not fear my dentist today, and neither do my children. The care is great and Tom and his crew do everything to make the experience comfortable and as pain free as possible. We get great care.

Tom and Diane worry about my teeth more than I do. They stress preventive care and taking care of our teeth. They email or send a postcard when someone is due for a cleaning; they follow up after serious dental work.

Go to Dr. O'Connor. I'm 55 yrs old and can smile for the first time with without hiding my teeth. My husband and I have had both routine and extensive dental care, including root canals and implants. In my case, I have had misaligned teeth my whole life and a TMJ operation. My teeth finally got to the point where I needed more than routine dental treatment. Dr. Tom helped me arrange everything. We had extensive consultations and determined a plan of action including finding a reasonable orthodontist. He coordinated with the orthodontist to ensure I was getting the best care. He even managed to do a root canal on me while I had braces. (My first root canal - I was scared -I still don't know how he made it pain-free.) . After the orthodontic work it was time for the implant and crowns. Everything went wonderfully.

Whenever my husband and I have had extensive treatment, we always get a follow-up call. I even got Dr. O'Connor's private phone number in case of emergency. He really does care about the patient.

Wow, I don't even know where to start! I have been going to Dr. O'Connor for about 8 years now and I am so happy to tell everyone about this particular dental office! This place is so great, from the minute I walked thru the door everything was spotless and clean, smelled wonderful (not like the typical dental office) and there were warm smiles everywhere. There was even a candle burning at the front desk, just like a spa! Everyone was so willing to make me feel comfortable and at ease! I have had some work done and I have to tell you, it was actually easy, I watched a movie while I had the work done, and even got covered with a blanket when I got a chill. Everything was completely painless and comfortable. Dr. O'Connor made everything so simple by taking his time and explaining the procedure and being overall so patient with everything he did. About Hygienist: Kathy the hygienst is so easy to talk to and so very through when it comes to my cleaning appointments.
