Case Description
I had a frenulectomy done by a doctor here in St. Louis; the doctor used a scalpel for the procedure, it produced scar tissue underneath and now I am even worse off than I was before. What should I do, because the Doctor told me there are no more surgical options. I seriously think he really didn't know what he was doing...

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

sometimes diode lasers are used instead of scalpels. i would get a second opinion...maybe from a periodontist or oral surgeon instead of a general dentists. one of my favorites is dr. george duello. he is a periodontist with offices in creve coeur and crestwood. good luck.if you need anything else from me, do not hesitate to ask.jeff dalin, ddsjeff@dfdasmiles.com314-567-561211722 studt avecreve coeur, mo 63141

I agree with Dr. Dalin. Perhaps a laser-assisted frenulectomy would be beneficial. Good luck, and let us know if there''''s anything we can do to help!Dr. Julie Ring636-532-2228
