Case Description
I am a concerned sister trying to help. I have a brother living in downtown St. Louis who is in desperate need of some dental work. He is not in a financial position to pay lots of money and I am willing to help. He is okay if they need to extract them and fit him for dentures. He is 54 and is experiencing pain and losing his teeth. Is there a charitable dental clinic - dental school? That might be accepting new patients. I would like to help him get this situation corrected at an affordable price. Thank you for any direction you can share. I live in Little Rock, AR.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

There is a peridontal graduate school at St. Louis University Center for Advanced Education on Rutger Street. But only periodontics, orthodontics, and endodontics. The closest dental school is Southern Illinois University School of Dentistry in Alton. It is an excellent school and not too far away. Try those two leads. Good luck,
